We’re hiring

Indirect Tax
Technology Analyst

  • Hybrid
  • 0–3 years experience
  • Romanian & English

When a company sells across different countries, it has to charge the correct indirect tax — that’s VAT, GST, or sales tax — on every order. On top of that, more and more governments now require e-invoicing: invoices sent to the tax authorities digitally, in a specific format, often in real time. Getting either wrong is costly, so companies rely on specialized software to handle it automatically.

Our team sets up that software, connects it to the systems companies use to run their finances and operations (known as ERP systems), and makes sure the whole thing actually works. That’s what you’d be doing with us.

We’re looking for people early in their careers who think clearly, pay close attention to detail, and enjoy solving problems. The tax and tech knowledge comes with the job.

Why it’s worth a look

You’ll build a rare mix of tax, technology, and data skills that’s genuinely hard to find on the market.

We care more about how you think than what’s already on your CV. Never seen this kind of software before? That’s fine — most people haven’t. What we can’t teach is attention to detail, curiosity, and the persistence to get to the bottom of why something’s broken.

What you’ll actually do

The day-to-day is varied — here’s a realistic mix of what your weeks could look like:

  • Set things up: configure the software that works out and applies the right tax on transactions across different countries (tax determination)
  • Test and break things (on purpose): run through scenarios to make sure everything works correctly before it goes live
  • Play detective: when a number looks wrong or a process fails, dig through the data to figure out why — and fix it
  • Connect the dots: help link the tax software to the big systems companies use to run their finances and operations (think Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Work with data: move, map, check, and clean up tax data between systems, and make sure it lines up
  • Decode the rules: help make sense of new government requirements — like the e-invoicing mandates rolling out across France, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, UAE and beyond — and turn them into something the software can actually do
  • Write it down: document how things are configured and explain your findings clearly — in a way both techy and non-techy people can follow
  • Talk to people: work alongside clients and colleagues, join calls, and help keep projects moving

You won’t be stuck doing one repetitive thing. Every client, country, and system is a little different, so you’ll pick up a lot, fast.

Where this can go

The starting projects are the entry point, not the ceiling. Depending on what you’re good at and enjoy, you could grow toward:

  • Setting up tax software across lots of different platforms and becoming the person who knows how they all fit together
  • Data analysis — building the reports, checks, and insights that sit on top of tax data
  • Requirements and solution design — translating messy regulations into clear plans for complex, multi-country clients
  • Getting closer to the advisory side — helping decide what should be built, not just building it
What we’re looking for
  • 0–3 years of experience in anything analytical, technical, or detail-heavy (internships, part-time, projects, and side quests all count)
  • You think in a structured way — you can take a big messy problem and break it into small, ordered steps
  • Real attention to detail (in this area, one wrong field can break an entire invoice)
  • You’re comfortable with spreadsheets and data — and curious to learn more technical tools over time
  • You can explain things clearly in writing, including to people who aren’t technical
  • You like learning, and you’re patient enough to work through documentation and unfamiliar systems
  • You’re comfortable working in Romanian and English

Bonus points, but genuinely not dealbreakers

  • You’ve used any big business system before (Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
  • Any background in tax, accounting, finance, or business
  • You’ve played with data tools (SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel wizardry) or file formats like XML or JSON
  • A second language that’s useful in our markets

If you tick most of the “actually matters” list and barely any of the bonus list — apply anyway. We’re hiring for potential, not a checklist.

Why us
  • A steep, structured learning curve in a field with real long-term demand
  • Actual responsibility early — no fetching coffee, no being sidelined on busywork
  • Tons of variety: different clients, systems, countries, and problems
  • A compensation package that actually makes sense
  • The Dutch gezellig work culture
  • Hybrid
  • A team that genuinely wants to teach you, not just hand you tasks
